The inner environment you create inside your head with your thoughts is responsible for the outer environment you experience as your reality. In other words, if you think you’re having a bad day, you are having a bad day – but only because your thoughts are keeping you blinkered to anything positive.
Your Day Is as You Think It Is
Your day, your week, your month, your year… and even your life is as you think it is. What do I mean by this? Well, let’s just think about one of those bad hair days. You know the ones: from the moment you wake up (probably late) it feels like absolutely nothing goes right for you… you’ve slept through your alarm, the shower is on the blink, your hair won’t do what you want, you burn your toast, spill coffee on your white shirt, and then when you step outside your front door, the heavens open and you get drenched… The thoughts in your head are along the lines of, “Why does the world hate me?” and you’re in a thoroughly bad mood, right?
The problem here is that the bad mood is a negative state of mind that you can get stuck in for the rest of the day, keeping you trapped in a place where your focus is entirely negative – you only see the “bad” things that are happening, and each one of them confirms your belief that nothing is going to go your way for the rest of the day… or ever.
Your thoughts influence your mood; the way you feel influences the actions you take, and the actions you take influence your outcomes.
Change Your Energy
Everything is energy, including your thoughts and emotions. The thoughts in your mind at any given moment are responsible for the energy you feel around you. You see, if things never appear to go your way, could it be that you think they’re not going to go your way and therefore, no matter how things turn out, you only see the things that didn’t turn out the way you wanted? When you focus your thoughts on what’s going to go wrong, you only see what goes wrong. All it takes to change your energy is to change your thinking.
By changing your thinking, you can change your reality.
Okay, no amount of positive thinking is going to change the fact that your hair just won’t do what you want it to do, but what it can do is change the way you feel for the rest of your day. Your thoughts generate the energy around you, so why not choose to change your energy. Instead of thinking, “What’s going to go wrong next?” switch your thinking to, “What’s going to go right next?” If you want to change your day, your week, your month, your year, and yes, even your life, consider changing your focus… does unruly hair once in a while really mean that the world hates you?
